My letter to Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers

Representative McMorris Rodgers —

I’ve lost track of the number of times I contacted you over the past four years, asking if Trump’s latest transgression and lack of moral compass would be enough for you to stop supporting him. Spineless is the word that comes to mind. Not only did you support him, you encouraged (overtly or implicitly) his support of Nazis, of separating children from their parents, of outlandish conspiracy theories. You actually joined a Texas lawsuit looking to disenfranchise millions of voters from other states. Spineless.

Now, here we are. People are dead. Trump has been shown (again) to be the corrupt authoritarian that he is. And you? It appears that you were only willing to reconsider your craven behavior five minutes past the point where your own safety and well-being were compromised. Too little, way too late. Spineless.

I welcome your form-letter, zero-accountability, BS reply. Which will stick with the pattern for the past four years. Spineless.

This post? Yep, it’s total fluff.

Went snowshoeing with the missus and a couple friends yesterday up at Mt. Spokane. It was about a 4+ mile out-and-back type of trail but the last mile (or so) on the way out we were the first on the trail after an overnight snowfall. As it turns out, snowshoeing uphill through fresh snow is a workout. I’m sore. But it was a lovely trip and the trailhead is all of about 45 minutes from our garage. Definitely worth doing again.

Warming hut at Mt. Spokane. Looking forward to post-Covid times when we can actually go inside and use it.
